Rest then reach, rest than reach,
As are the toils of the mountain climber,
    Neither action can be interrupted,
If I should find myself waste deep in mud or
Gaining frost by a bitter wind,
    I will rest then reach
The only other way is giving in.

Such a great poem Erik. And a wonderful philosophy that can be applied to life. Rest and reach.
Loved your poem and look forward to reading more of your poem.

Love the word espoused here in your poem E: determination!
Rest then reach. Striving towards the pinnacle of something great. Determined not to let this huge task overwhelm. Maybe even stubbornly so, as to never give up. This is an inspirational piece and I thank you for sharing it!

Your short poem shows determination, just like Ms. Jacquii states.
You really master alliteration with a special poetic taste.

thank you Wind, I've been in three record blizzards, so yeah I had to do allot of rest, reaching, and so forth,
in South Dakota, I ventured out into snow once where I'd fall in neck deep, push out and take a step and then fall in neck deep again

Ah - the "other" T state LOL
Hopefully we get a lot of snow here in Tennessee this year. I love snow. Makes ya feel like a kid again - having snow angel contests, skiing in Gatlinburg, snow cream and the like. Gotta love it. Even if it's bitter - there's always layers and in-doors LOL
