I thought that this was very good. And that It speaks to how some women and men also can suffer abuse. And then know that they are being abused and feel powerless to stand. When he don't really love you or she don't really love you. But then sometimes we may not know when we are being abused. Some times we may come from a family where abuse was the norm. We seem to have so many wolf men and women in sheep clothing these day's.
I agree, I think a lot of times men and women feel like if they continue to love a person, eventually, one day that person would treat them fairly. However more often than not that day never comes... I do not think they are powerless to stand however. I think everyone has the strength to stand firm within them, it just has to be discovered...
A man will only do (and get away with) what a woman will allow him to do (and get away with)
Wow. This was a powerful spoken word piece. Nice rhythm throughout. Content strong, with a somewhat fierce and riveting warning as the last stanza is spit forth as if a "Caution: Danger Ahead" type street sign of sorts.
First piece I've heard or read on JPiC in a good long while.
David Singleten - welcome to JPiC. If you can - please edit your post and include a typed version of your poem.
Anyway - thanks for the share.
Can't agree enough with the last sentence of your comment.
It's a real problem - not being able to distinguish between the real and the could-be-real-if-only's so to say. But isn't that the price of love at times? Emotional turmoil brought about as we seek to find our soulmate? Better to have dared a dibble-dabble into the lovesphere than to be so completely jaded by the process that you never even attempt to find the one who can complete you? I think so anyway... Kinda like - no pain no gain. And love hurts sometimes.. IDK. Kinda rambling LOL - but totally enjoyed the poem and your response to it.
Hope both of you fellas are doing well. And certainly hope that you guys aren't speaking from experience about the "wolf men in sheep's clothing" bit .... We'll have to bring some of the JPiC females on board and trim that wool hehe
I think your right that in order to discover love sometimes you have to experience pain. Sadly its part of the game. It is definitely better to continue to love than to become cold.
I don't think women should try to tame men though, nobody is perfect everybody has issues so people have to grow together. However most women who try to tame men end up like Siegfried and Roy. A women could have many years of success taming their tigers, but it only takes one moment for them to end up covered in blood half paralyzed.
Anyways just some thoughts. lol I try to keep my fur trimmed and my teeth filed... So if I am a wolf I'm a pretty pitiful one,
He doesn't really love you,
He doesn't really care,
His eyes is on your thighs
While he lies up in your ear,
and those lies they paint a picture
of a dream that isn't real,
and you feel that it's a lie
But at least it makes you feel,
and you love it when he feels you,
his touch is something real true,
And the way it makes you feel
Man without it it might kill you,
So you do whatever just to keep it from your rearview,
And you cling hard to make sure he stays near you,
But he doesn't want to stay,
He just wants to go,
He's gotten what he's wanted stealing pieces of your soul,
and he's only coming back,
when he wants a little more,
And your death is in his stare
But, you won't let him go,
No you won't let him go,
Wake up from your day dream princess,
Because this isn't a dream,
but a nightmare,
He's not a prince,
but a wolf,
So be quite scared,
And I'm sorry to say this
But this wolf doesn't fight fair,
And if you offer your heart,
You should expect bite there
And If you stay with him
You should expect to die there,
Yeah you should expect to die there...
No... not me far from a wolf. Still to sensitive. I'll probably fall in love with the sheep who I call myself manipulating. No no personal experience as wolf lol...ShoutOut to JPIC Also to David... you got talent as they say
